The best web and mobile app development partners help you navigate through the entirety of the business equation. Koombea takes into account your vision, as well as costs, value, functionality, your product roadmap, time to launch, and more.
Pricing depends on the number of features you are planning to have in your mobile app.
We strive to be a complete solutions provider, with pricing that is tailored to your goals and objectives. A quick conversation will enable our team find the best possible solution, including the functionality and platforms required, any goals to monetize the app, and other factors that will determine the overall scope of the project.
Yes we can!
Depending on the complexity of the application, the development process typically takes between six and seven months from ideation to launch. Some technical apps can even take up to a year or more to develop.
In some cases yes, in others, no.
Sometimes, by dedicating more development resources the project can be completed much faster. But in other situations, we may be restricted by the nature of the project, or technology and/or security requirements.
If you have a deadline you need to meet, contact us as soon as possible so we can do our very best to deliver on time.
Yes, we take a mobile-first approach to development and create native apps for both iOS and Android.
Yes, in fact nearly every mobile app that we build also requires a web-based application behind the scenes to drive it.
Koombea handles 100% of the technical work, including developing your app and submitting the finished product to the AppStore and Google Play. We also provide complete assistance in determining the content and graphics requirements for your app. You will be assigned a project manager, who will be your primary point of contact throughout the development process.
We also don’t share resources. You will have a dedicated team of developers who will work on your project until the very end.
Should you have ongoing project requirements beyond the launch of the first version of your website or app, then you may want to consider taking an Agile approach to your project and having an ongoing retainer arrangement with us that allows us to build, test, and deploy larger new features each month.
Yes, you will be assigned appropriate copyright or license rights for your code. You will have the opportunity to review our code ownership terms before the project begins.
We like to use open source languages wherever possible, with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the front end, and Ruby on Rails on the back end. We use Swift and Kotlin for most mobile app projects, but will sometimes use ReactNative should we be working within tight budgets or need to support web, Android, and iOS quickly.
For web apps we use front-end layout frameworks such as Bootstrap or MaterialUI in combination with front-end code frameworks such as React or Vue. On the backend, we usually use a Ruby on Rails framework, with the occasional project in NodeJS.
If you (or your client) have “API documentation” then it is very likely that we will be able to integrate with your existing systems.
We have experience connecting with lots of different systems and online tools to drive app functionality. Here are a few common ones we’ve worked with: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Amazon AWS, Salesforce, Google maps, Google Sheets, PayPal, Stripe, Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, Mailgun, Google Analytics, Youtube, Vimeo, and others.
Yes, it is common for us to work with existing systems and teams.
We aim to build strong collaborative relationships with a focus on cooperation and support for everyone involved.
We are Agile to our core.
Yes, we will need your support with testing the project, please.
The development process follows the well known TDD (Test-Driven Development) cycle, in which developers write automated tests first. This ensures that the acceptance criteria has been understood. Next, developers write code to pass the tests and finally, they refactor the code to ensure the highest quality.
In addition to TDD, we also have a certified iSTQB team that performs UAT on our side to make sure software delivered is of top-notch quality. Our QA process begins as soon as the development team delivers features on a sprint by sprint basis, so there’s no need for a standalone UAT/Hardening phase because it’s built into our development process.
Even if everything works 100% perfectly when we hand it over to you, you will need to check that everything is functioning as expected so that you can sign-off on the work with confidence.
You’re here because you have an idea or a fundamental business problem that you’re trying to solve. If you want to find out more about us, then you can check out our capabilities or explore our work.
If you want even more information then it’s probably a good sign that it’s time to speak to us.
